She blushed even more so. He always had to bring it up, didn’t he? It was like he loved rubbing in and teasing her with the fact he was her first kiss. In all honesty, she did really like that it was him. He was her closest friend and even if he was like a brother, it still meant something that it was him and not some other jerk at school. Besides, what girl has their dream guy as their first kiss? It made the fact that it was her closest and dearest friend so much better, even if he liked teasing and making her blush constantly about it. She waved her hand and kept her mocking pout as she swatted at him lightly. ”Epic moment of my life?” She laughed and rolled her eyes as she shook her head. ” Nope, I think you’re talking about yourself, aren’t you?” SHe grinned and poked him lightly before going to hide back behind her hand.
She blinked as he took the hand and looked up at him curiously. They always had odd moments like this, moments she couldn’t explain. He’d touch her or look at her in this way she just couldn’t put her finger on it. She shut her eyes and shook her head as she smiled. ”Nope, think you liked it a bit more.” She opened her eyes once more and grinned as she looked in his bag. ”Fruit salad? Well…that’s still my second favorite!” She grinned and reached over to kiss his cheek. “You’re the best, Finny! So….shall we head out?”
How could one person be so damn adorable. He watched as she laughed and continued to hide behind her hand. “I am.” He admitted, and though he was serious he made it seem as if he was playing along. “I will never forget that epic kiss from Rachel Barbra Berry.” He grinned. When she leaned over to kiss him his heart beat a little faster. It happened often, especially when he was extremely close to her. When they had those moments. Finn wondered if she ever noticed or gave thought to those moments, or if it was just him imagining things.
“Yeah, come on.” He said pulling out his phone and looking at the time. “By the time I drop you off and get home it’ll be 10.” He got everything together and they headed back to the truck. “You’re cold aren’t you?” He noticed, patting off the blanket and wrapping it around her. “There. Now you’re a warm Rachel.” His arms were around her for a moment as they continued to walk. He let go to get the door for her, and it wasn’t long before they were on their way. Once he pulled up in front of her house, he put the truck in park and looked over at her. “Guess what I’m gonna do when I get home.” He grinned. He did it every night, no matter what; he’d always text her. It could have been a simple goodnight or some other random thing. “I know you’re excited.” He teased.

Rachel grinned lightly as she tapped her chin. “Um…your pout is pretty pitiful, I’d give in just to make you stop!” She giggled lightly, teasing with him. She always loved these moments, how they’d loosely tease each other. It was their thing, no one else could do it. If she caught anyone, it would be their death and vice versa. She was always far too protective of him, and he of her.
She could only really laugh as he started rushing for all his things. For some reason he always loved the lake. She never understood why. Sure it was gorgeous and calm and she loved the talks they always had there. But he had this renewed spirit she just couldn’t understand each and every time he’d beg her to go out there. She had always be meaning to ask him but each time something would come up to distract or or she’d just simply deem it unimportant. And as he looked as cute as ever going on and on about making her something she couldn’t help but let it slip her mind just once more. She grinned and skipped over to him as she peeked about. ”Hmmmmm pasta salad?” She laughed lightly as she placed her hands on his shoulders and hopped up as if trying to look at what he’s doing. She grinned and poked him lightly. ”Or you could just surprise me?” She laughed and swung around as she leaned on the counter. She always was one for surprises and Finn’s surprises always tended to be the best.
Her eyes blinked lightly brought up Quinn and Puck. She remembered for a long time not being too keen on Quinn, somehow thinking the blonde wanted Finn or the other way around. She didn’t understand why it bothered her so much but every time Quinn was near, she’d feel her guard up. At least until the blonde started to date Puck and then the four tagged along pretty much everywhere. She felt a slight blush at the mention of truth or dare and lightly hit his arm. ”Finn! That’s so embarassing! You all kept laughing at me that day because I just….I hadn’t kissed anyone before and then you….” She shook her head and slapped a hand over her nose as if to hide her blush.
He couldn’t help but grin, soon laughing once he saw her start to blush. “Embarrassing? That was the most epic moment of your life! You’re never going to forget that kiss because it was your first. I was your first.” He had no idea how she felt about that moment, but for him, it was perfection. Even with Puck and Quinn near by cheering them on. Sure, afterwards he laughed along and teased her like everyone else, but he was only trying to cover up the fact that the kiss meant so much more to him than just a dare. He told Rachel everything, but he never told her how he felt about that kiss. And he definitely didn’t tell her that that very night he had gone to her house. He stood outside for awhile, even picked up a pebble to throw at her bedroom window to get her attention. He wanted to tell her how he felt that night, but just didn’t.
He smiled, reaching for her hand and pulling it away from her face. “Don’t hide. You know you liked it.” His hand held hers for a moment, lingered actually, before he let go. “Here.” He cleared his throat, reaching in the bag he packed. “We didn’t have that pasta stuff, but there was a bunch of fruit so I just mixed ‘em all up and made a little salad or whatever.” He set the small bowl between them, looking up and smiling at her.

Rachel couldn’t hide the giggle at his outrage. Of course, he was a boy and he just detested anything romantic and as much as she loved her best friend and wanted to accomadate to his tastes, she just needed her old romance kick every so often. Still, she knew him and knew eventually he’d give in. She laughed and threw her arms around him in a tight hug. ”I knew you couldn’t resist my charms!”
It was one of her favorite movies, they all were really but they were always so sweet, always showing the underdog. She was the underdog in her own reality, playing the guy’s part as she frowned and thought of Jesse. Just, would her real life mirror the movie? Would she ever get him to even notice her? She was thrown out of her thoughts as Finn yelled out at the screen, blinking as she laughed and patted his arm lightly. ”It’s just a movie, dearie, he’ll get the girl, promise!” She laughed land winked lightly before moving to rest back against the couch. Her eyes followed him as he walked to the kitchen and she smiled softly as shook her head. ”Hmmm not now but later I’m making you make me something!” She grinned and focused back on the movie, frowning as the main couple kissed. Why couldn’t her luck be like that? She was only vaguely aware he was speaking back to her again as she tore her eyes from the tv and glanced up at him. ”The lake?” She laughed lightly and grinned, nodding. ”Only if you promise not to try to get me wet again! Last time I was sick for a week because you wanted to play in the water…” She pouted slightly before smirking and sticking her tongue out at him. Still, her smile couldn’t die down. He was always too cute when he tried to get her to do something, not as cute as her of course but cute.
“Yes!” He said, as she gave in. “I thought I was gonna have to do my pout on you. Which, may I point out, is equally irresistable.” He gave a stern nod as he sat down. They finished watching the end of the movie and once it was over, Finn hopped up and grabbed everything. His jacket, a blanket. “Hey what were you gonna force me to make you!?” He called out to her, because of course he’s do just that, make it for her, and they could take it out with them to the lake. He’d pretty much do anything she asked him to do.
Once he got everything together they headed out. His mom had no problems with them going as long as they were back by 10. Finn was glad they were going down to the lake. They always would go, swim in the summer time, have picnics, just hang out lakeside and talk. It was their spot. There was also another particular reason he loved the lake so much. Once they got there, he led the way, going to their usual spot and laying out the blanket. “Hey, remember that one time when I told Puck about this place, and when we came out he just showed up with Quinn?” He laughed. Of course he was going to remind her of that because that was was one of the best days of his life. “He made us all play truth or dare.”
A lot of crazy things happened that day. Seeing Puck run by naked was definitely one of them. But the best thing was when Quinn dared Rachel to kiss Finn. Puck had a huge grin on his lips because he knew that Finn was totally in love with Rachel.
