Finn wasn’t just excited about some party. Sure, a party sounded fun, but tonight was the night he would tell Rachel how he felt about her. He didn’t know exactly when he’d tell her, but it would definitely be some time before he dropped her back at home that night. And so here he was, gazing at his reflection and tugging at his shirt. “You can do this.” He coached himself. “It’s gonna go fine. Just…do it. Like Nike!” He gave himself a grin and went to grab his phone. He dialed Rachel as he made his way downstairs. “Hey, you all pretty?” He asked with a smile, waving goodbye to his mom and Burt who were snuggled up on the couch. “Well, I’m on my way.” He said.
Puck had already called him earlier, making sure that Finn was going. His friends seemed quite excited when Finn told him the plan. “Finally! We can celebrate you stop being a pussy and actually telling her how you feel by getting drunk and dancing tonight.” Puck said. Finn just laughed. “Nah, I promised her I wouldn’t get drunk tonight. Plus if everything goes well, which I hope it does, I wanna be sober for pretty much everything.”
He had been anxious all day, and now it was time. He hopped into the truck and headed to pick up Rachel. It didn’t take long for him to get there, and when he rang the doorbell both her dads had answered. “Finn!” They greeted, shaking hands and giving a quick hug. “I’m so glad that you convinced her to go to a party. She’s never been and she needs that experience.” Leroy smiled. “No, no. What she needs is to be at home away from the drinking that I have no doubt will be going on, and playing Celebrity while Barbra’s greatest hits play softly in the background.” Hiram chimed in nervously. Leroy rolled his eyes. “She’s with Finn. It’s fine. Go take a Valium.” He patted and smiled, motioning for Finn to come inside. “She’ll be down in a sec.” Leroy said going to the foot of the stairs and called up. “Sweetie, Finn’s here!”

She’s not the only one who can do it. After this Rachel won’t be able to resist.

Finn grinned at the computer screen, shaking his head as he read Rachel’s comments. There was one thing he had to admit: she was definitely lovable. So much so that he was actually in love with her. He was pretty sure he had always been, since they were kids. The two met at the park, in the sandbox where she decided to give a small concert for the kids. Finn could remember sitting there, staring up at her with his mouth gaped open, watching her in awe. He gave her praise, she sang some more, and from that moment on the two were inseparable.
He knew everything there was to know about her, and he accepted her for what she was; the best and the worst. When they were young they’d have sleepovers (which her dads ended once they hit puberty), and they would stay up all night talking about any and everything. They still did, mostly on the phone. Yep. He knew everything about Rachel Berry. He knew that she talented, driven, beautiful, kind, funny, adorable… oh, and she had a major crush on Jesse St. James.
This had been going on for awhile now. He’d listen to her gush over the boy and tried his best to keep his smile. What else could he do? Obviously she only saw him as a friend, which sucked. Finn tried not to dwell on it. He closed his laptop and went downstairs, falling into the cushions of the couch and reaching for the remote. Channel surfing occupied him before the doorbell rang, well it did after he picked out all the red M&Ms from the candy bag, knowing they were her favorite.
“I got it!” He called upstairs to his mom and Burt. He opened the door and smiled as he saw her standing there. “I say hurry and you take you time.” He teased, rolling his eyes. “Typical.” With a grin he stepped aside to let her in, closing the door once she was. “You’ll be happy to know that my mom picked up some of that soy dream ice cream stuff for you when she went to the store. She figured you might like it when you come over. So you have that, annnnd…” He walked past her, grabbing the napkin off the table where he put all the red M&Ms. “…these.” He waited for her to reach for them before suddenly lifting his arm so that she couldn’t reach them. With their height difference, this definitely amused him. Every. Single. Time.
What exactly do I say?

Hey! I’m Finn. I’m big into sports, food (seriously try some of Rach’s banana bread because it’s awesome), and COD. Yep. Uh, I’m kinda new to this whole internet thing, but hit me up anytime I guess.
